She is lovely like a garden
She writes like Samuel Pepys
She is pretty like a flower
She is kind like God
She is smiley like a dolphin
She swims like a fish
She is jumpy like a rabbit
She is my sister.

Year Two students had a wonderful time on a residential trip to Everdon.  Everyone enjoyed themselves as they took part in shelter building in the woods, hunting for Billy the Bullhead in the stream and badger watching late at night.  Nobody could miss the staff looking glamorous in their green waterproofs and wellies!

		<description><![CDATA[We have been learning all about space. We&#8217;ve done lots of fun activities such as making our own rockets and pretending to fly to the moon. We even had a picnic on the moon. If you visit our orchard, there is a huge rocket which has landed there. We dress up in space suits and have used the workshop to make some control panels. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, BLAST OFF!!!!!!!

		<description><![CDATA[Wow what a busy term so far &#8211; it has flown by.  Eased by a bank holiday and being closed for the Election.  The children have been really busy working on their books for book week and we enjoyed a sharing assembly this week.
We are really pleased the sun is now shining more as it means we can let the children use the large field we have for them to play on.

		<description><![CDATA[Sunshine time?
Year 1 children and teachers have continued to enjoy our term’s theme of seaside throughout book week.   The children have loved to make different types of books around the seaside topic and painted their own clay fish designs.
We are now looking forward to a visit from a Punch and Judy show and have been busy practising for sports day, making sure that our catching, jumping and throwing are of ‘Olympic standards’.   Our end of year show, Jolly Holiday, has been introduced to the children and rehearsals are now underway.

		<description><![CDATA[On Monday 25th January we are hosting a parent conference with Gary Wilson. Gary is author of several books including &#8220;Breaking Through the Barriers to Boys&#8217; Achievement&#8221; and  &#8220;How to Help Your Boy Succeed&#8221;.  He was a teacher for twenty seven years.
Gary will talk about the ways boys learn and how, as a parent, you can help your child to succeed. 
The conference is free and will be held in the school hall from 2pm until 3:15pm.  Parents are asked not to bring children to the conference.

		<description><![CDATA[We&#8217;ve had a busy start back to school this term. We have electrical work and windows replaced during the holiday so there was a lot of dust when we returned after the summer break.
The staff for Oakway Day Nursery have been in to introduce themselves to the staff and have been very busy receiving deliveries of toys and furniture as they settle in ready for their open day this Friday.  It is very exciting to have a new team on site and we look forward to getting to know all ...]]></description>
