Oakway Children’s Centre
Oakway Children’s Centre is attached to the Infant School and officially opened its doors to families in February 2008, offering a wide range of services with the aim of providing everyone with opportunities to ensure their family gets the best start in life.
Open 50 weeks of the year… Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm, the Centre focuses on working with families with under 5’s.
We run a varied programme throughout the week, with a Calendar that changes monthly to accommodate the needs of the families and their children.
Groups
Groups form a key part of our offer, whether it be for families to spend time with their children or to engage in adult learning.
For the whole family…
We run various stay and play groups including Little Seedlings, an unstructured play session, and Play and Learn Together, a craft session for the family that allows families to create wonderful items with their children.
For parents…
Oakway Children’s Centre also prides itself on offering a range of adult learning opportunities which have previously included numeracy and literacy courses that have culminated in the option of gaining a recognised qualification, and basic computing courses to help parents get up to speed with the latest programmes that will assist in a return to work and allow them to keep up with their children!
Creche
The crèche is open to all those parents who wish to attend a course. Our dedicated crèche team provide a stimulating environment in which children can explore, learn and build their confidence.
Family Support
The Family Support Team is able to work with families, who are experiencing difficult times. They link with other agencies and can offer assistance with setting up routines, budgeting, behaviour problems and many other issues. Referrals can be made by the parent themselves or by another professional.
